We take a break from our exploration of moving-image titles this week to spotlight a piece of technology that has a number of applications in the context of online video producing for unions and organizers - the Flip Video digital camcorder. About the size of a cell phone, the Flip bundles the ease of one-button recording with an excellent on board sound pick-up, and about an hour of recording time in standard or high definition. The Flip is perfect for use in field production situations where the ultimate goal is to compile footage specifically for online distribution - for uploading to YouTube or Vimeo, for example.
